Agony Magpie: How to gain new followers on Instagram? Part 2

As we promised, it’s time for the second part of Magpie guide for jewelry brands! Do you remember the first part? We talked then about learning to manage Instagram feed on the example of the most inspiring profiles! Now Magpie, when you already have this knowledge (if not, click HERE), it is time to move on to technical issues, that is how to increase the number of your followers.

Likes, followers, content, feed, hashtags – Instagram’s appearance in 2010 brought many new names. I often hear criticism of the app and its opponents usually claim that likes are not the most important thing in the world. Of course, they aren’t. But before you start criticizing, set an account and see how many inspiring people you can find there!

No surprise then that Instagram, from a private space became marketing phenomenon in no time.

Why is it worth taking care of your brand’s Instagram account? Because it’s the 21st century business card! So I made a guide for you to help you reach several thousands instead of several Magpies. 4P are 4 Pica Pica rules which every beginner Instagramer has to know. Let’s start, then

#1 Presentation

First, let’s take a look at your business card. How does it look? Certainly its most important goal is communication, so you want it to be readable and describe your brand in an interesting way. Am I right? It is the same with Instagram. Your account needs to show the potential recipient who you are and what values you present. To succeed you need to be creative! Stand out among thousands of other magpie entrepreneurs! How to achieve it? The Planoly brand who deals with professional building of Instagram accounts introduced the 5C rules of feed building (link, here<< click it!):

#2 Pull

“Give before you start expecting!” Very often brands have very inspirational profiles but the number of followers doesn’t grow. If you are wondering why you publish a photo and nothing happens, remember that on Instagram there is no group of professionally liking people. Unfortunately, before you start expecting anything you have to advance your clients – it is you who needs to find them! Start interacting – liking photos, sending friend requests and commenting. If someone likes your account, they will stay for more.

Also remember to use popular hashtags –this is a way to anchor the photo in the network so that someone looking for #goldnecklace or #earrings can find your brand. You can use 28 hashtags with each photo –popular bloggers recommend using the whole bunch, which makes it more possible to get noticed!

#3 Planning

Another thing to keep in mind is planning. Publish photos at popular times of the day and get more views. What are the most optimal hours and days? Fridays after 4:00p.m., Sundays after midnight and Mondays after 11:00p.m.! How do I know that? Thanks to professional statistics tracking applications. Planoly and Unum not only allow to plan your feed before it’s published, but also monitor your account and recipients’ activity.

#4 Promotion

So you have the basic knowledge about content, hashtags and liking, you take care of beautiful and inspiring feed. What else can you do? Promote the brand! There are two ways to do that. First are the Instagram ads you can buy directly via your Facebook account. The second popular one are collaborations! Cooperation with influencers and bloggers can give unimaginable profits! Thanks to them your followers will know how to wear jewelry on the daily basis, get discount for your products or will take part in a competition.

Do you remember, when I wrote you should give before you can start expecting anything? The most popular form of interaction with recipients is giving away your products. Every now and then it is worth making competitions for your followers where one of the conditions is e.g. to like your profile, comment the photo or tag a friends.
