Jewelry trends at INHORGENTA MUNICH 2017 fair
Do you know this feeling when you have 3 days to go with camera through 6 halls (of the area of 64 000 m2) fuuuull of trinkets and watches? I’ll tell you that it’s doable. Of course here come in handy “motors in oour rumps”, map in iPhone app and fresh Magpie’s eye.
We are in Munich at INHORGENTA MUNICH 2017. This time we had a mission to spot the jewelry trends for you, but before I tell you about trinket novelties that caught Magpies’ eyes at the Fair, I have to emphasize that Inhorgenta is not only German design (fortunately, otherwise except for worn soles we would have gotten yawning fits). That is…
Exhibitors in… numbers
Apart from massive trinkets with raw but sturdy design you will see there 987 exhibitors from 40 countries, including 47 companies from Poland – which is an absolute record in the number of Polish exhibitors. You need to know that Poland has even better result that the whole fair. We noted a 35% increase – last year there were 35 Polish brands. Besides, in my humble opinion – Polish brands, and especially our Designers located densely in the Contemporary Design & Vision Hall – when compared to the rest of the world are not just great – they are outstanding.
Jewellery Show
Since we poured some sugar, let’s move to the the jewelry show under the patronage of the German ELLE. With jewelry it’s like with sweets – if you are chocolate devourer – you never have enough. And luckily, in this case, the more carats the better. (Blimey! I will soon become dad-jokes-Magpie). So after the whole day we switch our motors off and sit in the first row. Around us are colorfully dressed celebrities. The lights are dimmed and the DJ in crystal headphones gives the first model a sign with music… (psst, if you click the video below you’ll see the show!)
Oh! We are amazed by the model wrapped in long strings of pearls, dancing with feather fans. And you, dear Magpie?
Inhorgenta Munich Award
One more fun fact. This year for the first time the INHORGENTA MUNICH AWARD was awarded in six categories and the Trophy, that is 3.5 kg „diamond” made of bronze (designed by Swedish goldsmith Patrik Muff) was taken by e.g. ISABELLE FA, SIF JAKOBS JEWELLERY, LILIANA GUERREIRO (you can see all the winning works here: <click the link>)
Sightseeing, seminars and prosecco
Besides, the program of the fair is rich in numerous seminars. I’m so excited, because I can boast about meeting with Joanna Hardy (the author of awesome books: “Collect Contemporary Jewelry” and “Emerald,” an expert with 30 years of experience in jewelery and colored stones), who is not only an absolute authority in the jewelery world, but she can still infect even the most resounding listeners with her energy and brilliant jokes. Which makes her lecture on colored stones remain for a long time in our memory.
An indispensable part of Inhorgenta Munich is also the evening networking with a glass of prosseco and live music played by professionals. This is a perfect respite for exhibitors. Would you believe, Magpie, that the Fair was visited by nearly 27,500 magpies from 70 countries, so exhibitors had a lot to do. And at the end…

Color and most of all… color! Color in gemstones, plastic accessories and enameled rings. There is spring in the air, so allow yourself for a bit of smile with jewelry that will make you happy!

MINIMALIST LINE
Minimalist jewelry has been women’s object of desire for several seasons. Moreover… Even though large collars and XXL earrings came back to fashion, we still like to wear jewelry that is delicate and like chameleon is coherent with out outfit.

It was fun at INHORGENTA MUNICH. More fun than last year, which means that next year it will be even more fun, so we’re going there again.
