Szymon Ciechorski Fruit Bijoux. Appetizingly about jewelry.

I launched Skype, Poznań – Gdańsk. I like the feeling of excitement that accompanies me before each interview. I have to admit that I talked to Simon as if we had known each other for ages. 😉 The window appeared and I was greeted by a blurry Szymon Ciechorski, a.k.a. Simon – the designer and owner of Fruit Bijoux. Although the connection is slightly laggy, he took his laptop and virtually showed me around his studio. Gdańsk is a basin of jewelry. The designer had done his first grinds before he graduated from the Koszalin University of Technology. His brand was developing over a few years, as he started during his studies. After coming back from his trip to London, Fruit Bijoux took on its form and assumed the proper direction. It’s not mass production, and, what’s important, everything is handmade. The team consists of four people, who hold the tiny secrets of the brand and create the designs under the watchful eye of Simon, who makes sure that everything correct. The entire designing process takes quite some time to mature. Everything is slowly and carefully formulated; Simon lets his designs rest, to make sure they’re impeccable. He personally supervises the entire processing. He owns special plating equipment that allows him to gild jewelry by himself. My favorite rings are the ones that are likened to powdery candies in the headlines. Do you know which ones I mean? 😉 If not, take a look at the pictures below. The colorful rings have a lovely satin coating that remarkable scatters light. Do you know why? Let me explain. It’s all thanks to the mini-mirror under the powdery crystal, which reflects light. A great feature is the option to unscrew the top of the ring. Simon excellently refined the ISO metric screw thread, which is very durable, so… all you need is to buy the “ring” itself and order different modules, choosing from a vast range of colors. 😉 Fruit Bijoux is sold on every continent. It even has a fan on Hawaii. She has already got 15 rings and became the brand’s ambassador on the local market. The great thing is that each collection has added value. The latest one, which will premiere this winter, is a result of the designer’s interest in psychophysiology of sight. Imagine crystals with nanolenses… sick! But I won’t reveal any more. 😉 We’re gonna visit Fruit Bijoux during Mustache Yard Sale in Poznań. Simon promised to show me the prototypes. I can’t wait. 🙂

We have something special for you. For the first time, we decided to collaborate with a different blogger. Karolina Gawrońska, a petite, athletic and adorable author of the culinary blog from our hometown Savory or Sweet? has prepared with us a parsley cake. While grating the root, she was worried that it’d taste like chicken soup. 😉 The worries quickly vanished. We assure you that licked all our fingers with great appetite, as we were eating up the leftovers from the bowl. After finishing the piece of art, we indulged ourselves in a slice of cake, seconds, even.
