YES & Pica Pica. Paris adventure with jewelry
I have a problem (exclamation mark). Do you know what, Magpie? Well, Magpie adventures are always full of beautiful views (e.g. when Magpie Katarzyna was pretending to be Quasimodo at Gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral or when filming a snap I went, like a total clutz, in a dress into a huge ventilator in front of Moulin Rouge) and often are funnier than the most colorful emojis. I have to admit that after our return from French soil I am totally enchanted with Paris and have a need to draw completely childish hearts instead of dots over the letter “i”. I’ll tel you about this infatuation in a minute.
like foie gras with ice cream…
I’m taking you on a Paris journey to the land of… gluten! Full of croissants and baguettes from French bakery shops which are so mouth watering, that we feel like Obelix standing in front of cauldron with magic potion. To the city with the most beautiful architecture and at the same time rich in tastes, not only frogs, cheese and clams, but also stuffed with romantic cafes and luxurious boutiques and of course topped with top fashion designers, amazing art collection in Louvre, Orsey or Centre Pompidou.
All those places, starting from open-work Eiffel Tower, to Notre-Dame cathedral and the Champs Elysées – we went with the main character of our trip, that is the beautiful jewelry of the Polish brand YES.
Stories from Paris
We are heading for Montmartre hill. Before visiting the famous Sacre-Coeur basilica and getting absorbed by the artistic atmosphere of this district, we go for a breakfast to Cafe does Deux Moulins, film Amelia’s favorite cafe. Excited, I order coffee and creme brulee, which I break with a large soup spoon (just like the movie protagonist). Remember the scene, dear Magpie? I know that for some of you, this place may be overrated, but I felt this movie charm.
I will tell you that we also felt Paris atmosphere when digging in our second breakfast like a regular person. So sipping a cup of coffee for one euro (bought from a man in a mini cafe) sitting on our favorite bench in the Luxembourg Gardens. Imagine, Magpie, a park lined with golden autumn leaves and the most beautiful roses, whose buds are perfectly in bloom…
We choose together a place with the best view to observe the well-dressed French women who have an absolute sense of style. And when we get bored we flick through our VOGUE from 1924 bought in a green wooden shed from a Parisian second-hand bookseller (that is a street antique dealer selling old and used books). Eh… Do you know Magpie, that I always regret that you are not with us during our travels?
Magpie’s favorite places
We do all of Paris sightseeing on foot, I do not even want to count how many miles we have covered, but it would be a pretty good result. Aaaah! I will add that we were using the metro only when we were exhausted. It’s all to show as much as we can when we’re back. But before you see a movie from the trip, I’ll put together a few sentences about my three favorite places in Paris:
Auguste Rodin Museum – located in the Palace on Rue de Varenne 79. Rodin is my favorite sculptor, you know? I will tell you that he received a residence from the government, giving the city a collection of sculptures, including: The Thinker, The Kiss and The gate of Hell. Many of the artist’s works are exhibited in the garden adjacent to the museum. And one more interesting fact. In one of the rooms exhibited are works of sculptor Camille Claudel, his student and lover. If you don’t know this romantic story, Magpie, then I recommend you this film <click>.
Moulin Rouge – this is a traditional cabaret where you will see the best dance performances in an impressive feather and jewelry setting. Dancers come from all over the world. Do you know that to dance the classic can-can in the Red Mill and be able to perform topless, you must be 175 cm tall, have a perfect silhouette, and most importantly, great dancing skills…
Centre Pompidou – it is one of the best modern art museums in the world. You will see paintings and sculptures by Picasso or Marcel Duchamp and fine exhibitions of contemporary artists. From the outside, Pompidou looks pretty futuristic. The facade of the gallery is covered with miles of pipes: yellow is an electrical installation, blue is ventilation, and green is a hydraulic system. And a long queue in front of the entrance? It’s tourists. Remember, Magpie, to show up there at least an hour before the planned visit!
Of course you will find the rest of places in Magpie Katarzyna’s pictures and in a good guide, and I’m inviting you to click on our Paris show now. Once you see it, I’ll tell tell you about trinkets in two latest collections from YES, which so wonderfully illuminate our videos. I bet that there will be something for the fans of gold and silver.
YES fall collections
For our Paris adventure we chose two collections from YES. One silver and very minimalist, that is Flow, designed by Kasia Bukowska. It’s main motif is circle. These trinkets are light, delicate and inexpensive. Wearing the Flow jewelry in Paris I forgot about having it on, which is the best proof it is perfect for everyday wearing. What is more, it goes with every outfit.
The second, and I admit my favorite collection in fall novelties from YES is Paisley, designed by Magda Dąbrowska. Do you know that Paisley is a symbol from the far East (it came to us probably from ancient India) – it symbolizes all that is necessary to start a new life. It stands for readiness, maturity, start, creation, abundance and fertility. I also learned that the name paisley comes from a Scottish town near Glasgow, where three centuries ago it was decided to produce fabrics with this motif.
Hmm … So just between us, to me it looks more like paramecium seen under a microscope, but in this golden, jewel-like and modern version. It totally fascinated me! And you, Magpie? Which collection do you like the most? I am curious about your opinion, write me in the comment. <3
This is the end of our Paris adventure with jewelry in the leading role. We’d like to thank YES brand for that amazing adventure – it was beautiful. And you, keep reading the article – there are a lot of beautiful pictures below. And remember … if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to post them in the comment. About Paris I can talk without end…
Kisses!
