The Whole World at Vicenzaoro January 2025 – A Report from the Fair
1,300 exhibitors, attendees from 145 countries, and halls buzzing with New Year’s enthusiasm and excitement—Vicenzaoro January marks the official start of the season for the jewelry industry. It’s here that professionals recharge their creative batteries, discover fresh trends, promising brands, cutting-edge technologies, and forge connections with a future-forward perspective. As the organizers aptly put it: “Five days of innovation, inspiration, and connection.”
Back in December, we spoke with Matteo Farsura, Global Exhibition Manager for the Jewellery & Fashion division at the Italian Exhibition Group, the organizer of VO, about the goals for 2025. Matteo emphasized that the team’s top priority is expanding the global reach of the event by attracting more exhibitors and attendees from around the world. Now, as January comes to a close, the “Golden Team” has already achieved impressive results. The title of this article is no exaggeration: representatives from 145 countries attended Vicenzaoro January, breaking past records for international participation. Despite its growing global reputation, the event hasn’t lost its essence. At VO, no matter your nationality, you can’t help but feel the warmth and hospitality of the atmosphere. The exhibitions themselves are crafted with quintessential Italian elegance, taste, and creativity.
A Stroll Through the Glamroom
Don’t ask how many thousands of steps I took across the Vicenzaoro halls in my sky-high heels. This time, I devoted the majority of my visit to exploring the standout section of VO: the Glamroom. Found in Hall 1 as part of the LOOK exhibition, the Glamroom showcases young jewelry talents and emerging brands. This dynamic, Instagram-worthy space stands out for its freshness and ultra-modern approach to design, where jewelry deeply rooted in current trends takes center stage.
This section is perfect for brands that are redefining luxury as prêt-à-porter. Wandering through the booths and chatting with designers offers a glimpse into the trends that will soon dominate jewelry boxes worldwide. I spotted collections brimming with potential, perfect for markets like Poland’s. For boutique owners along the Vistula River (and beyond!), I recommend keeping an eye on the lace-like creations of Brigitte Adolph (future brides are bound to fall in love with her designs), the inclusive Portuguese brand Mesh, the bold minimalism of Diva Gioielli, and the rebellious artistry of Katerina Vassou. These brands highlight the diversity of trends shaping the contemporary jewelry market. The Glamroom isn’t just a showcase—it’s a treasure trove of inspiration for designers and a barometer of aesthetic shifts for the entire industry.
A Business New Year’s Eve
I like to joke that I can skip New Year’s Eve without guilt—because for me, the New Year has already begun in Italy, with the January launch of the Vicenzaoro fair. The event’s unofficial motto: “Always mix business with pleasure.” I write about the unique energy of VO every year, but it’s undeniable: the Golden Team has mastered the art of creating an atmosphere that fosters networking and building lasting relationships. Attending Vicenzaoro feels like going to a family reunion. After hours spent wandering among the booths, no one rushes back to their hotel. Instead, everyone gathers for Happy Hours, where glasses of prosecco accompany business discussions blended with conversations about art, fashion, travel, and life itself. The Golden Team is shaping the future of the industry and is already introducing the next generation to this glittering community. This year, 650 students participated in VOJ (Vicenzaoro January), gaining behind-the-scenes insights and invaluable inspiration to plan their careers in the world of jewelry.
Although Matteo Farsura’s team has already checked off its New Year’s resolutions in the first month of 2025, the Italian Exhibition Group shows no signs of slowing down. The packed calendar of international jewelry industry events is bursting at the seams: OROAREZZO in May, July’s SIJE in Singapore, Vicenzaoro September preceded by the new Vicenza Symposium, the Valenza Gem Forum in October, JGTD in Dubai in November, and finally, the Italian Jewellery Summit in Arezzo this December. It’s going to be a sparkling year!
