Seven Decades of Shine – Preview of the Vicenzaoro Anniversary Edition

The iconic VO letters, and beside them, the proud slogan “70 years”. The jubilee logo heralds a celebration soon to be honored by the entire golden community. 70 years ago marked the beginning of one of the jewelry industry’s most important gatherings. The famous Italian fair Vicenzaoro stands as a jewel-centric event with a record tenure. The birthday edition of VO is set for January 19-23, 2024.

To start, a reflection: since the 1950s, when the first goldsmith fair was held in Vicenza, the world has changed beyond recognition. But you know what, my jewelry lovers? The jewelry presented back then surely exists and thrives. Sparklers are a link between the past, present, and future. These are objects with lasting power – often outliving their owners. The motto of Vicenzaoro’s anniversary edition – The Heritage for Tomorrow – echoes this thought.

Between Past and Future

On one hand, there’s respect for heritage and tradition. On the other, a fascination with the future, courage, innovation. Vicenzaoro’s DNA is rooted in the ambition to merge these two realms, united by mesmerizing jewelry. Emblematic of this idea are the fair’s main branches: a comprehensive review of premieres and the latest collections from international jewelry brands and VO Vintage – a section dedicated to archival jewelry, open to the general public.

We always repeat that for my jewelry lovers in the industry, the New Year starts in Vicenza – this is where we discover trends for the upcoming seasons, where the intense, glittering calendar of fairs and events kicks off. We’re eagerly awaiting the full program of VO’s anniversary edition. Even without the final agenda in our wings, we know that the organizers, the wonderful team of Marco Carniello from the Italian Exhibition Group, will dazzle us once again. #GoldenTeam never rests on its laurels. Each new edition of VO is bigger, more interesting, and shinier.

Through the Editor-in-Chief’s Eyes

Our #girlboss Agata has been a regular at the Vicenza fairs for years. I asked her for her thoughts on the upcoming January anniversary. “I’m as excited as if I were going to a very close person’s birthday! One of the greatest successes of the organizers is creating an influential industry event, but with each edition, they put a lot of effort into the social element of the fair. The result? No one goes to Vicenza as if it were work. Every attendee knows that they’ll handle important matters for their business in Italy, but everyone just looks forward to the reunion with friends and evenings around the table with prosecco,” emphasizes Agata. The Editor-in-Chief also highlights the “return to roots.” “One of the key goals of the fair, true to its original mission, is to promote Italian goldsmithing and ‘made in Italy’ jewelry. These aren’t just words – in our report from the September edition, we wrote that VO’s actions translate into real sales results for the local industry – it’s impressive! Vicenzaoro is the oldest industry event in Europe. You go there to understand what will happen next in glittering trends and collections. At the same time, the event creators clearly emphasize VO’s identity, harking back to their 70-year tradition and the legacy of the golden city.”

Agata in the Palace

With over a month left until the January edition of Vicenzaoro, our fashionista and editor in chief already assembling her wardrobe for the trip. “Bold stylings are my hallmark!” laughs Agata. “I prepare a unique outfit for each day, recently I conquered Vicenza with a pink sequin suit! The organizers have arranged for a royal reception of media representatives at the VO anniversary edition. Our Editor-in-Chief will be settling into the palatial interiors of the luxurious Premiere hotel. “Such lavish hospitality from the organizers shows how the GoldenTeam cares for event participants and skillfully drives event promotion,” emphasizes Agata. “I’m hugely grateful that I’ll visit Vicenza again and be part of a historical event like the 70th-anniversary fair,” concludes the Editor-in-Chief. You’ll soon read more about the program of Vicenzaoro’s birthday edition on Blingsis’ Instagram, and if we’ve tempted you with this preview, you can still buy a ticket and join us in January!
