PALAKISS, Silver Jewelry Fair in Vicenza
PALKISS is the Fair dedicated to silver jewelry and products made from precious metals. I’ll tell you, Magpie, that here, in the modern exhibition hall of Vincenza convention center (of the area of 5000 sq m) buyers and manufacturers of goldsmith products from all around the world meet four times a year.
Advantages of Fair and… fun facts
PALAKISS fair is most of all a trinket paradise. With this amount of chains and Italian style light trinkets – everything jumps inside! You got to know me a bit so you know well that I feel permanent butterflies in stomach when I see good jewelry. And now, gorgeous Magpie, I’ll tell you about the greatest advantage of PALAKISS.
The fair model is “cash and carry” – which means that you can buy the products there. You simply choose collections you like, pay and go home with a trunk full of trinkets. Why is it so important? You have to know that during the majority of fairs you are contracting, that is order the selected trinkets (it’s winter, so you are choosing the spring ones) in the company or designer and you sign a contract. PALAKISS made it simpler. It shortens the time between contracting and collecting the order, which often reaches the buyer after several months.
Do you know that Vicenza is known as the world’s capital of gold? Vincenza goldsmith industry is created by over a thousand of thriving companies. It is about 10% of all jewelers in Italy. I’ve learned that almost half of them are prestigious handicraft workshops recognized in jewelry industry, fake jewelry and precious stones.
PALAKISS promotion methods
OK, you’ve ingested the most important information about the fair. Now it’s time to boast. I’ll share my little success with you. Can I?
As you know PALAKISS fair publishes their own magazine: Vicenza Jewellery (one of the editors is Alessandra Meda, Wonderful Italian who has been writing for Italian Vogue for many years) where apart from the article about Pica Pica (2 paper pages!) you can read about brands less known in Poland: MARKIN, Yvone Christa or Le Conterie. It’s awesome, that Magpies are discussed internationally, isn’t it?
Time for another interesting fact. Have you heard of Jewelry Virtual Fair? It is a kind of “jewelry Facebook” – it allows the users to create own network of contacts in jewelry industry. Creating a profile is free and the buyers from all the world can contact you. Additionally, you have a ton of interesting facts and calendar of the most important events and fairs in one place. If you ask me now if it’s worth being there, I’ll tell you that I’m creating my profile there tomorrow. Try it too, Magpie. For me the idea of “jewelry Facebook” is absolutely genius.
Apply to PALAKISS
We are walking along with the fair organizers. Alessandro Scalvini (PALAKISS head of marketing) reveals us an interesting fact. Can you imagine that on one of the stands the company has sold 30 kg of silver? Among 150 exhibitors we have spotted some Polish brands: By Dziubeka and two other companies with amber jewelry. A question is why your brand wasn’t there. Well, maybe it’s worth trying.
You can do it by taking part in the FUCHSIA INSPIRATIONS competition. You only have to create your JVF account (I told you about above). Then you register for the competition and load photo of the jewelry project inspired by fuchsia color – by October 17th.
Competition Rules
Jury selects 29 finalists, one of them will be nominated by JVF members. The winners’ works will be presented at the next edition of PALAKISS 2017 where the results will be announced.
I’ll tell you that it is worth fighting for! The winner will win a free booth at the spring edition, an article in Vicenza Jewellery Magazin and a few other cool prizes. But you can read more about it HERE.
If I got you interested with the competition, then move your Magpie rump and go designing. And remember that we keep fingers crossed for you. The second option is of course application for the next edition. So what’s it gonna be? Who are we seeing in May?
