Jewelry as a Concept: A Sneak Peek of Oroarezzo 2023 Trade Show
The Oroarezzo concept is inseparable from the identity of the town, which from May 13th to 16th, 2023 will host for the 42nd time a meeting of local goldsmiths and representatives of the jewelry industry from all over the world. Arezzo, also known as the city of gold, is the Italian birthplace of jewelry craftsmanship. Nurturing and developing the discipline is the most important topic of Oroarezzo, but the program dedicated to cash & carry merchants and inspiring showcases of the most beautiful gems within the iconic Première competition is equally significant. Today, we will tell you why you cannot miss this event!
The Oroarezzo trade fair is the place-to-be for all players in the jewelry industry. Goldsmiths can observe the work of their Italian counterparts and discover technological novelties. Designers draw inspiration from the imagination and skill of gems made in Italy. Brand owners and store owners establish valuable contacts with suppliers and manufacturers of semi-finished products or packaging. Of course, as it is in Italy, industry novelties, purchasing section, and technological conference are presented in an incredibly tasteful, artistic setting – all thanks to the creative efforts of the organizers from the Italian Exhibition Group, also responsible for the success of the Vicenzaoro trade fair (read the report from the last edition HERE).

1 – SPARKLING IDEAS
We write in almost every text about the fact that jewelry holds personal meanings, values, and symbols. Alongside the aesthetic admiration for these sparkling wonders, this belief lies at the heart of our fascination with the jewelry world. The organizers of Oroarezzo followed a similar path. The motto of the May fair is „Shaping Jewelry Ideas”. Although the event’s domain is related to craftsmanship and technology, the Oroarezzo team gracefully weaves ideological and artistic elements into the communication and program of the fair.
2 – CITY OF GOLDSMITHS
In Italy, the culture of craftsmanship, manual work, and local production remains very strong in many fields. Arezzo is a city with centuries-old goldsmith traditions. Many workshops have been operating here for a hundred, two hundred years, and some probably even longer..! Oroarezzo is an important meeting forum for jewelry manufacturers from the entire region of Tuscany. One of the key goals of the fair is to support the development of the goldsmith industry: promoting craftsmanship, presenting new technologies and solutions that support traditional workshop work – this topic is dedicated to the rich conference part of the program.
3 – JEWELRY „OSCARS”
One of the most anticipated events on our agenda is the Première competition. Every year, the fair’s organizers choose a theme that is the subject of competition among jewelry creators. Last year, goldsmiths competed for the title of the most beautiful bracelet. We are eagerly awaiting the announcement of this year’s theme and the exhibition of jewelry competition – we expect a truly sparkling feast and a display of goldsmith’s artistry. A novelty during this year’s edition will be the Talents section dedicated to students and jewelry creators under 30 – applause to the fair’s team for the idea of promoting young talents!
4 – SHOPPING TIME!
Oroarezzo is not just a showcase of curiosities, exhibitions, and conferences – it is a real industry trade fair. Real commercial exchange takes place in the halls of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, and among the participants are many jewellery lovers, suppliers, and brand representatives looking for interesting jewellery for their stores or semi-finished products on which to base their own collections. The purchasing section has highly specialized sections, for example, dedicated to packaging (we love beautiful jewellery boxes, right, jewellery lovers?).
5 – ITALIAN ROAD TRIP
An invaluable „perk” of the trade fair ticket is the opportunity to spend a few days in beautiful Arezzo. This charming town holds architectural gems and works of great masters, including Piero della Francesca. The heart of Arezzo is Piazza Grande – a characteristic sloping square, which you, Sroko, may recognize from the film “Life is Beautiful” with Roberto Benigni. Take a glance at the map: Arezzo is an excellent starting point for exploring central Italy. You can easily reach Siena, Florence, Pisa, Rimini, and even Rome from here.
