New Era for INHORGENTA MUNICH – Preview of the Jubilee Fair Edition

Five decades of glittering history – INHORGENTA is a brand with a venerable pedigree. The Munich jewelry fair celebrates its 50th anniversary in a stunning new guise – the event has gained a new visual identity reflecting its status and ambition. The birthday edition of INHORGENTA will take place from February 16-19 and will surprise attendees not just with a refreshed logo.

1974 marked the first edition of the German jewelry fair. Munich, one of Europe’s most important metropolises: ultra-modern transport, impressive sports facilities, a hub of trade and lifestyle, the epicenter of the disco pop era. Integral to this color is the success of a new event in the jewelry industry. When I come across a roll of archival materials documenting the first decade of INHORGENTA’s history, one thought flashes through my mind: “those were the days!”

New decade, new look

The refined name of the event comes from a combination of Latin words: gemma – jewel, aurum – gold, argento – silver, hora – hour, and inter, meaning international. The half-century jubilee is an excuse for the INHORGENTA team to celebrate achievements and reflect on the future. 50 years of tradition is a reason for pride, but the ambition of the organizers, led by the energetic director Stefanie Mändlein, is to create an atmosphere of excitement and a sense of novelty. “Courage and confidence, subtlety and timelessness” – this vision was illustrated by renowned graphic designer Mirko Borsche using modern typography and sophisticated key visuals. A few months ago, the INHORGENTA team presented the new visual identity to the media and community, marking the first chapter of the anniversary celebrations.

Shining lifestyle

Today, INHORGENTA is one of the leading platforms for the jewelry industry in Europe. The program of the jubilee edition, wrapped in a fresh elegant branding, focuses on unique experiences for participants. A hallmark of the fair is creatively arranged thematic sections – exhibitors’ products are presented in a broader, lifestyle context. A great example of this concept will be the new “Wedding World” zone. The bridal and engagement offerings from jewelry giants (August Gerstner, Max Kemper, Meister, Niessing, Rauschmayer, and many others) will be showcased in an extraordinary setting – the centerpiece will be an area styled as a wedding chapel, accompanied by, among other things, pastry chefs’ showcases. IMHO, it’s a brilliant, engaging idea – after all, jewelry is always part of a larger whole: fashion, culture, celebrating important occasions. Press materials announced more novelties in the organization of individual parts of the exhibition, as well as the development of a program dedicated to luxury brands. The overview of unique jewelry and accompanying attractions will be complemented by lectures and discussions as part of TRENDFACTORY and the INHORGENTA AWARDS gala.

Party like it’s 1974

My last visit to INHORGENTA was a few years ago, at the beginnings of Blingsis. The impressions from that trip are still vivid, but I eagerly anticipate returning to the Munich fair and experiencing all the attractions announced by Stefanie’s team. The elegant envelope that recently arrived at my magpie nest heralds another surprise – I received an invitation to a luxurious birthday party and dinner at the iconic Tantris. The two Michelin-starred restaurant is considered one of the best in Germany. The event will be a return to the roots of the Munich jewelry fair – the theme and dress code is “glamour & drama” à la the divine 70s. You know me well – of course, I already have a meticulous plan for a dazzling outfit for the occasion. #staytuned and #staybling, dear jewelry lover – I will soon share the report from the jubilee edition of INHORGENTA on Instagram and the blog.
