Amber Showstoppers – A Preview of AMBERIF Spring 2026

For centuries, amber has sparked the imagination – a miracle of nature inspiring artists, scientists, and historians alike. My home country, Poland, is a true amber hub, and Gdańsk unquestionably deserves the title of its capital. It is in this picturesque city, from March 26–28, 2026, that AMBERIF Spring – the leading jewellery trade fair in this part of Europe, with amber as its central theme – will take place. Admission for trade visitors is free, and I’m excited to share why I’ll be heading to the spring edition of AMBERIF myself.

For me, this will be a reunion with AMBERIF – I haven’t been to the amber capital for several years, so I’m returning to Gdańsk with great curiosity and an open mind, eager to see where the industry stands today and the direction in which it is evolving. I could speak at length about the importance of AMBERIF, but let’s turn to the numbers: more than 200 exhibitors from 12 countries and trade visitors from 38 countries – amber’s international career is flourishing, and jewellery lovers from all corners of the world are falling for the mysterious beauty of this golden gem. There is hardly a better place to discover its allure. Gdańsk is an architectural gem on Poland’s map, but above all, it is here that the most important amber routes intersect, where knowledge and craftsmanship in amber processing are cultivated, and where a centuries-old artistic culture with amber at its heart continues to thrive.

Amber Behind the Scenes

AMBERIF Spring is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of amber and amber jewellery. The exhibition floor brings together top creators, established brands, and promising startups specializing in this niche. But the show’s programme offers much more: from education and live craftsmanship demonstrations to artistic events. Education will meet entertainment during the spectacular AMBERIF Metal Games – a competition for master metalworkers, where visitors will be able to watch their professional skills and behind-the-scenes techniques live in action. I have marked the seminar “Amber 360° – Science, Heritage, Environment” in my calendar with an exclamation point – as you know, I’m a jewellery geek and never miss an opportunity to expand my knowledge. The event is described by the organisers as “an invitation to look at amber from multiple perspectives – from archaeology and anthropology to chemistry and environmental research. The latest studies on amber conducted in Poland and abroad will be presented during the seminar.” I can also reveal that I’m planning a feature that will serve as a perfect introduction to this programme highlight. Together with Agnieszka and Michał from Amber Experts, we’ll be sharing amber insights on @blingsiscom – for those just beginning their amber journey as well as for those who know it well and want to refresh their expertise.

Amber – but Make It Fashion

A strong accent closing the first day of AMBERIF will be AMBER Vibes – an event combining fashion, jewellery, and art, with amber naturally taking centre stage. Serving as artistic director is Lidia Popiel – an absolute legend of the Polish fashion world, a model and an outstanding photographer. “Amber and its multi-million-year history – rooted in nature and in time travelling through generations to reach people – are my inspiration,” says Lidia Popiel. “What matters deeply to me is how this story is received by them,” she emphasises. The show is also open to non-industry guests, and the event is ticketed (including for trade fair participants). This exceptional evening will also feature the awards ceremony for two important competitions. As part of AMBERIF Selection, the best exhibitors of the fair will be recognised, while the AMBERIF Design Award is an international competition for designers from around the world – last year, the jury evaluated 365 submissions from 34 countries. I’m very much looking forward to seeing the winning works live and personally meeting the top creators working with amber.

My previous experiences with AMBERIF and my analysis of the upcoming edition’s programme confirm one thing: it is truly worth diving into the world of amber – and at the same time discovering avant-garde design, a dynamic and diverse jewellery scene, and many incredible young brands. I already have a plan to bring back an amber keepsake from AMBERIF – I’ll be on the lookout for jewellery that adds a golden glow to my looks and becomes a symbol of my return to magical Gdańsk. During the fair, I’ll be conducting numerous conversations and interviews with exhibitors, closely observing how amber is interpreted today: from classic forms to modern, artistic approaches. As always, reports from these discoveries will be waiting for you on @blingsiscom.

See you in Gdańsk, the capital of amber – I truly look forward to this meeting.
